What is a simple high-protein diet?

High-protein diets typically include large quantities of protein and only a small amount of carbohydrate. Most people can follow a high-protein diet by eating meat, fish, dairy products, beans and legumes, eggs, and vegetables that are relatively rich in protein, such as asparagus and spinach.

Is pate okay for cats?

WET FOOD. Some veterinarians recommend feeding only wet, or canned, food. For most purposes, we recommend the paté food rather than the flaked food in gravy. Many cats will lick off the gravy and not eat the meat, which leaves them with incomplete nutrition full of thickeners and glutens.

Is pate OK for kittens?

While Fancy Feast is often considered a lower-cost option, it is still made by Purina, so it has been formulated by veterinary nutritionists according to AAFCO standards for kittens. It is also a smooth paté, which is easy for kittens of all ages to eat.Nov 4, 2021

How much pate should I feed my cat?

In general, you can feed an average-sized adult cat one 3-ounce can per 3 to 3½ pounds of body weight daily. You should adjust this amount depending on whether you also feed your cat dry kibble. Your veterinarian may also recommend feeding more or less wet food depending on your cat's weight, health and other factors.

How much wet food should I serve my cat?

Many wet foods come in three-ounce cans and recommend feeding approximately one can a day for every three to three and a half pounds of body weight. However, brands vary. A happy, healthy cat will maintain a good weight and stay active.Feb 17, 2022

How often should I feed my cat pate?

Most adult cats eat up to two times per day. Don't be alarmed if you struggle to get your cat to eat more often, it may just be because your cat is full already if you are trying to feed more than twice per day. Kittens, on the other hand, need to eat more often.May 11, 2021

My kittens would leave half uneaten.

Cat love them!
Customer says:
My foster kitten refused to eat this and ended up dehydrated and constipated resulting in a vet visit. The food has less moisture than other brands. She preferred Fancy Feast kitten
Customer says:
I purchased this product, and also read the label which did not list grain in the ingredients. Upon receiving the product the label reads it contains brown rice. It also says it has sweet potatoes which was not listed in the online label posted on Amazon. Very disappointed with the false advertisement here.
Customer says:
My silly other half ordered these accidentally, and I opened one before I realised what it was. Fortunately, since it is Blue Buffalo, there should not be any added sugar... so my dogs liked it... though I doubt I will be feeding them any more until I am sure that they are okay for an occasional special treat. That noted, my little dog did not like the salmon, so he got the chicken instead -- I thought the salmon one smelled much better than the chicken one though. We have given our dogs Blue Buffalo branded products for a long while and they still act like puppies and they have no health issues... so I can recommend the brand highly. While 25USD for 24 cans may seem like a lot, they are a great value if you want to give your cat something healthier. I am rating these four stars. As always, your mileage and preferences may vary...
Customer says:
When I ordered this, I thought I was ordering cat food and not kitten food because the Amazon product title said "Blue Buffalo Baby Blue Healthy Growth Formula Grain Free High Protein, Natural Kitten Pate Wet Cat Food, Chicken Recipe 3-oz Cans (Pack of 24) (Chicken, 3 Ounce (Pack of 24))." However, after I received my order, the title was corrected to "Blue Buffalo Baby Blue Healthy Growth Formula Grain Free High Protein, Natural Kitten Pate Wet Cat Food, Chicken Recipe 3-oz Cans (Pack of 24)." However, I am not totally upset about this because I also ordered their other kitten food, so I could use this even though I was not expecting this order to be kitten food. At the current price of $40.75, this comes to $1.70 per 3-ounce can, which is expensive but still competitively priced for brands like this. There are 24 cans in this package. The first several ingredients are chicken, chicken broth, salmon oil, potatoes, guar gum, flaxseed, etc. This is high in protein for kittens. I have three elderly cats who need to put on some weight. One of my cats is so old (about 19 years) and thin that he needs to gain at least 7 pounds. Therefore, this is not only for growing kittens but can be used to beef up an adult cat's weight but only for those who need the calories. Otherwise adult cats should not eat kitten food because the excess calories will cause them to gain weight. Blue Buffalo is good food in my opinion. Two of my three adult cats loved this. Unfortunately, my oldest cat would not even try it. Instead, he just walked away. In summary, two of my cats' love this food and dug in immediately. My skinniest cat that is about four pounds now, would not touch this. Despite his response, this food was a hit but it is expensive. It is good for kittens or adult cats who need the extra calories to put on weight.
