I use this as my main source of nutrition. I also add a little bit of other dry for added interest each month.

LOL! I had been giving Blue Buffalo kitten food to my cat until about a month ago when I decided It was time to change to blue buffalo adult food as she's a bit over a year old, and after doing some research figured I would change over to Costco "Maintenance Cat" instead because it was supposed to be a strong replacement for blue buffalo and less expensive. Well , I can't speak for other people who claim that food holds water, but let me tell you that it didn't take but a few days before her coat started getting dry and brittle feeling. Sure, she seemed happy and was eating it but she just looked..kinda ratty and her coat was...like...using cheap shampoo on your hair and having it strip your hair of all of it's oils and then not using conditioner. I imagine one of those hair commercials where a girl is holding her blow dryer and her hair is a dry balled up mess full of static electricity. It didn't matter that I blended the food to give her a good transition and then I even waited a bit and left her on the new Costco stuff long enough to see if it would right itself ,but even after a good amount of time I had no such luck. As sure as the world turns my suspicions were affirmed when as soon as I put her back on blue buffalo food...within a few days or so her coat went RIGHT back to being soft and plush and all that good stuff. I imagine what we're talking about is probably how the food effects her saliva and then it's effects on her coat. Well whatever it does is really amazing. It's funny, because I took the fact that she's always been really soft from the time she was born for granted because she's always been on the blue buffalo kitten food and I didn't realize it was largely due to that that she was so soft. I remember making a point about how incredibly soft she is to my my best friend when she was a little kitty, and he asked me once if I thought her kitten coat was going to fall off and she was going to be more course and less soft over time...and I didn't think much about it, or that was ever going to happen because she was always so soft. Well now I know that it was partially due to the food. So.even though this is twice the cost of the Costco stuff which is made by a company called Diamond ....it's worth it. I can't say that stuff wouldn't be good for another cat, but so far Blue buffalo has been the best Cat Food for the best price and I think if you have a cat you owe it to your animal to give them the best you can afford...and this is a perfect balance. What's it cost me..$100 a year? It;s like 30 cents a day I figure...less than a cup of coffee. So...there ya go. She gets the health benefits and I get the benefits of her health as well because she's happy, healthy, and soft to pet and cuddle with. As a last note...I purchased this "Healthy living" which she's on now, as well as the "indoor formula", in case for some reason she starts to get a bit chunky etc, so I'm gonna try these two out and I'll know more as time progresses how she does. But either way, it's down to the BB brand food as the winner at the very least. I hope this helps you guys.

I feed a stray neighborhood cat named Stripes, which I've been told makes him mine, and he's always happy with whatever food I give him. People know I do this and they donate supplies. Somebody gave me some Blue Buffalo and he REALLY LOVES it. He gets genuinely excited for it. I looked it up and it's comparatively pricey, but since he likes it so much and has had such a tough go of it in life up until now, I can't deny him this one extravagance, so now he gets it all the time and seeing how happy it makes him, I don't even mind the price.
