Questions
Is wet food or dry food better for overweight cats?

The fastest way to get and maintain an overweight cat is to feed both canned and dry food. Customer says:
I've tried several foods to get my obese cat to drop any weight. He was a homeless cat and psychologically has a need to eat all the time. He's afraid he will not have food one day. He's now been with me 5 years and seems to be calming down on the food binging. Eating normal portions and when he comes inside he wants love first, not running to the food bowl. These are big changes just in the 6 mos, so I am really working hard on his diet. I feed Instinct Raw Boost Rabbit for one of my other kitties, so I know it's a great food. I give the "Marshmallows" as toppers to my dogs and now 3 other cats. Everyone loves the marshmallows ❤️ 🐕🐈 so when it came to a weight loss and maintenance food I thought Instinct since no other brands have worked. He still has weight to lose, but in 5 yrs Neko is running, actually ran up a tree (then got scared and baled) I don't think he's ever climbed a tree. I'm so excited for him, he's finally going to get to do cat stuff.

Customer says:
My older cat absolutely loves the little freeze dried pieces and my kitten loves it also
Customer says:
My cats have never disliked anything so much they would not eat it, but that is what happened with this food. Also, the big white bits (which are kind of chalky like a marshmallow in kids' cereal) are very big - bigger than bite size. They seemed to have trouble trying these. I am sure the ingredients are great, but the cats won't eat it, so it doesn't matter.
Customer says:
I wanted to like this food as it has gotten good independent reviews (outside of Amazon) and has solid ingredients for a fair price. Unfortunately, my cats weren't too impressed. They will generally eat anything -- they've tried out a lot of brands, including Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Tiki Cat, Solid Gold, Rawz, Purina ProPlan, and this. I transitioned them onto this slowly and gave them ample time to decide if they really didn't like it or if they were just grumpy about change. They made their decision loud and clear -- my usually ravenous boys could not have been less interested in breakfast or dinner. In fact, the only part of this food they will eat (and that's not with much excitement!) are the freeze dried pellets. So, we'll be moving on and the feral colony that lives near us will get to try this out (and if they don't eat it, I'll update this, because those friends will eat anything!). The only other thing about this food, and I'm not sure this qualifies as a valid assessment, is that it smells very strongly of something like farmyard -- almost like hay or chicken feed. Other cat foods have had strong smells, but it usually smells like generic "cat food" - this smells different to me. Not rancid. But the smell didn't pique the interest of my cats either, who will usually chomp right through the side of the bag if it smells great. I could even smell the food when it was sitting in a bowl across the room. Not the biggest issue -- if the cats ate it, that is. As with any cat food, though, it's very cat dependent. We all know who makes the decisions when you have a cat. Many cats do seem to like this food, so don't let me review stop you from ordering -- try out a small bag, transition slowly, and give them ample time to try it out -- they might just like it! UPDATE 12/3/2020: Put this out for the feral community cats and they (as well as some possums visiting in the night) picked out the freeze dried pieces and left the kibble behind. Very strange!
