What can I say, I thought each bag was 4lbs, 4oz! NOT 4 ounces, which still would be mega expensive!!! THAT IS LITERALLY $5 per OUNCE! ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!! I could buy fillet mignon for way cheaper and feed my dog. This is so bad it's being returned the SAME DAY AS DELIVERY! What a RIPOFF!

My dog (pit bull/lab mix) would not eat these.

The POWER Animal Freeze Dried Salmon Recipe Dog Food arrived in a resealable pouch about the size of the typical dog treat package. The pellets are dry crunchy fish pieces. If you look closely at each pellet, you can see bits of skin here and there, so I expect they probably grind up the fish and then just make it into pellets. At first I thought it was mold, but no... definitely just delicious bits of silver fish skin that my dogs love the taste of. The package indicates this can be used as a treat or as a food topper. If you're using these as a treat, giving your pup one pellet each time as a reward, the bag will last a long time. As a food topper, not so much. Following the recommended daily intake guidelines on the package for my two dogs, and the bag will only last maybe a couple of weeks at best if used every day (very small dogs.) This stuff has that stinky fish smell that dogs love so much with treats (or at least my dogs do.) It's really helped me to get my dogs to eat their kibble (especially my super picky chihuahua.) I add a bit of the topper to their kibble, then I take a couple of spoons of hot water and pour it over the entire bowl before stirring it up. It seems that this food topper releases its delicious stinky flavour into the kibble when I make their food this way, and the kibble is finally getting eaten up. I like that this product seems to be very high quality, and I like that it's a North American pet product. It works well as a food topper, and my dogs really like it. We haven't had any issues with GI upset either. It's a little but out of my price range unfortunately, so it's unlikely I will purchase this product going forward. I definitely recommend it though. It works well and the dogs love it.

I use this "POWER Animal Freeze Dried Raw Dog Food" as training treat for my dog. It is of good ingredients, and basically just freeze dried raw food, with no fillers and made in the USA. The size is perfect as a training reward/treat. My dog seems to like it. It smelled pretty good, I almost tempted to try it (but I didnt). Overall, I think the price is OK, it is not cheap, but as a training treat, a bag of 4oz do last a while. Currently, there are cost differences between the beef, chicken and salmon recipe, personally, I would just go with the cheapest one among those. To me, they are all very similar. Thank you for reading this review, I hoped that this review is helpful to you in support of your purchase decision.
Customer says:
This freeze-dried food works well as a topper or a treat. I confused our puppies at first by using these bits for both purposes. The relatively small size of the bits made by this brand is good for training when you need to do frequent treating for reinforcement — like when you’re introducing a new skill. Puppy is rewarded but not overfed. As with other freeze-dried dog food, these bits get heavily damaged in transit. I hope manufacturers take the feedback of providing these in cardboard snack tubes like chip companies are using.
Customer says:
My dog is exceptionally picky when it comes to his food, so a topper is a must. Usually, we use either a freeze-dried product (like this one) or cottage cheese. With that said, we have never come across a freeze-dried product that my pup didn't love and that didn't get him started with eating his food. This isn't an exception. My dog enjoyed the freeze-dried (preferred it without the kibble of course) and didn't seem to have a preference between the flavors. As my dog is 60lbs though, without kibble isn't an option because I can't order multiple bags just for one meal. From this brand, we have tried the beef recipe, salmon recipe, chicken recipe, turkey & sweet potato recipe, and salmon/chicken/carrot recipe - all loved equally. The beef (this one) was a lot crunchier than previous freeze-dried products we have tried but that wasn't a plus or minus for us - just a note. All in all, the freeze-dried is good quality and loved by the pup, BUT we will still likely go back to our normal brand as it is a better value and of equal or better quality.
