Questions
Does wet dog food have grain?

How Is Wet Dog Food Processed? Wet food starts with grinding the protein sources, or meat ingredients. Then a gravy that contains vitamins, minerals, and grains is added. Once those are mixed, the food is cooked and sterilized to produce the canned product.

Is Blue Buffalo wet food grain-free?

Blue Buffalo Freedom is a grain-free canned dog food using at least a moderate amount of named meats as its dominant source of animal protein, thus earning the brand 4.5 stars.

Is Wet food good for dogs?

Wet food is a great way to give your dog a hydration boost, while dry food can support dental health. As wet and dry dog foods have many differing benefits, another option to consider is to feed a mixture of both to give your dog a well-rounded diet that targets all kinds of needs.

Is wet dog food healthier than dry?

Generally speaking, wet food is better for dogs than dry food. Wet food has fewer carbohydrates, which are difficult for dogs to digest, and more water, which keeps dogs hydrated.

Is it OK to give cats wet food everyday?

Feeding your cat wet food every day in addition to dry food ensures that your cat receives plenty of fluids. This is because fresh animal-based food naturally contains lots of water, which is also a key part of the jelly that binds the pieces together.

Is wet food better for cats?

Ultimately, your cat will decide whether she prefers dry or wet cat food. Purina nutritionists recommend feeding a combination of wet and dry food, though. This helps ensure she gets plenty of moisture in her diet, plus the dental benefits of dry food, all while adding variety to keep her interested.

Is pate or gravy better for cats?

Shreds in gravy cans feature more fiber, moisture, and fewer calories than the pate. These could be a great choice for more sedentary cats who still need moisture in their diets or as a little snack between meals for energetic cats.

Is it OK to add water to wet cat food?

– Adding extra water to wet food can also help increase water intake. Some cats will happily eat a food that resembles soup! – Start by adding a small quantity of water (e.g. 1 dessert spoonful) and gradually increase this over a period of several days if your cat is happy to eat their watered down food.

How long can you leave wet cat?

There is a debate on how long wet cat food can sit out, but the general consensus is that it should only be left out for 1-2 hours indoors at room temperature. After a couple of hours, wet cat food will dry up and congeal and become less appealing to your kitty, and become a breeding ground for bacteria.

How much is fancy feast a day?

The average cat should eat 4-6 ounces of canned food per day split between 2-3 meals but this is just a general guideline. One can of Fancy Feast is 3.5 ounces. When determining how much you should be feeding your cat once transitioned to canned food, keep it simple. Too fat-feed a little less.

Reviews From our Customers
Customer says:
My cats LOVE Fancy Feast Appetizers and their favorite flavors are chicken, chicken and beef and chicken and tuna. It is great for kitties with a poor appetite because they all seem to like this and will eat it when they are turning their noses up at other stuff. This has also been good for my CRF kitty because of the limited ingredients and almost no additives which is a lot less for her little kidneys to process. It also has a high water content which is good for her, too. This is also good for cats with suspected food allergies because the ingredients are so limited. Please note that because these are not filled with extra supplements, it is not considered a "whole" food. But cats do not eat supplements in the wild so I think it is perfectly fine for them to have this and you can supplement it with other canned or dry foods so they can have a more well balanced diet. That is what I do. I hope they never quit making the Appetizers because my kitties like them more than just about anything I have ever purchased. I get this on Subscribe and Save so that I save even more and do not have to remember to pick it up from the store.
Customer says:
Expensive but my cat loves it! And, it is less expensive than all the flavors and types that I was throwing away!
Customer says:
Do not like the new recipe at all - or should I say my cats don't. At first I thought it was just new packaging so didn't notice the difference until I opened the first pack in a new box - the meat looked different (almost grey) and thought it was a bad pack and threw it away, opened another serving .,..same thing so threw it away also and decided to open a second box (I order in bulk from amazon each quarter) same thing again! Double checked the dates plenty of time before the used by...so I put it down and all the cats came running, and all sniffed then walked off (even my little fatty who never turns his noise up at food! So I went to my supermarket and bought some there (thinking maybe both boxes from Amazon got spoiled in transit?) - nope! same thing. It was only after a friend offered me her boxes of the new stuff tonight saying her cats won't eat it I thought to come on here and see if others had the same problem - looks like nearly everyone does! Good thing they still have kibble and will eat the chicken and liver classics or I'd have very hungry cats. Luckily there's a local feral cat program that was more than happy to take nearly $70 worth of it off my hands but sad because they used to LOVE this stuff :(
Customer says:
This is the only wet food my spoiled 15 year old cat will eat. He will throw a fit if he does not get his nightly tray. I normally buy this at my local grocery, but on occasion the shelf has already been cleared because apparently this town has another kitty obsessed with this food. When I found it here I quickly ordered a months supply. It arrived quickly, in perfect condition, and the expiration dates were comparable with what I bought at the store. I try to keep at least a 2 weeks supply in hand at all times so I will be ordering again. Happy cat, happy life. He's lived this long what baby wants, baby gets.
Customer says:
My older cat was losing weight. He will eat this food, though. I use it as a special treat, rather than a regular diet.
Customer says:
5 cats consider this a major treat. When you open the package you can see the strands of real meat, muscle meat which kitties need to stay strong and healthy. I put it like icing on top of their evening canned food meal. All 5 share one large can, 5.5 oz. of other stuff, so sharing this tiny pot IS just like an icing teaser...they also eat low calorie crunchies (free feed). Not to be used as the sole food since it contains ONLY water, chicken and a couple of gums; no taurine, vitamins or omega supplements which they have to get from other food. This is truly a feasty appetizer treat...it sure disappears fast in my house...box of 10.
