Questions
What is the best food to feed my cat?

Meat. Cats are meat eaters, plain and simple. They have to have protein from meat for a strong heart, good vision, and a healthy reproductive system. Cooked beef, chicken, turkey, and small amounts of lean deli meats are a great way to give them that.Jan 16, 2022

Is it OK to feed cats dry food only?

"Dry food is fine as long as it is complete and balanced," says Dr. Kallfelz. Dry food may be less expensive than canned cat food and may stay fresher longer. Cats that eat only dry food need to be provided with lots of fresh water, especially if they are prone to developing urinary tract blockages.

How often should cats have dry food?

"From age six months to maturity, most cats will do well when fed two times a day." Once the cat becomes an adult, at about one year, feeding once or twice a day is appropriate in most cases. Senior cats, age seven and above, should maintain the same feeding regimen.

How often should you feed an indoor cat?

Cats should eat at least two meals each day, about 12 hours apart. But a breakfast, lunch, afternoon, dinner, and right before bed schedule is an equally great option. If more than 12 hours elapses between meals, the stomach can become hyperacidic causing nausea.

What can I feed my cat instead of cat food?

Many cats enjoy cooked grains with a smaller texture, like couscous, polenta and millet. Vegetables – Small amounts of finely cut, microwaved, steamed or boiled carrots, peas, green beans, broccoli, asparagus, pumpkin, squash and spinach are all okay to feed your cat on occasion.Apr 29, 2020

Is there a recall on Friskies dry cat food?

At Petful, we too have been noticing an increase in the number of complaints about Friskies. However, despite all the recent rumors, there has been no Friskies cat food recall in 2019 or 2020, and Purina maintains that there is no problem with the food.

How much dry Friskies should I feed my cat?

For an adult cat, start with ½ of a 5.5 oz. can (Friskies/9 Lives-size can) twice daily and no additional food.

What should cats eat daily?

Most cats need 4-5 ounces of canned food per day, total. Pate-style varieties tend to be higher in calories per can than the varieties that more resemble people food with chunks and gravies- this can be useful when trying to fine-tune the number of calories per day being consumed.

Reviews From our Customers
Customer says:
My cats love it I mix it with their at food. Great combination
Customer says:
My inside and my outside cats love this food. I like to keep a couple different brands and flavors on hand but they repeatedly go back to this one. I’m very pleased and would love it if they would come in larger bags. But the cats are happy and that’s the most important thing. Thanks.

good
Customer says:
I'm using this food primarily for feral cats in the neighborhood. The ferals seem to like this flavor better than other flavors and brands. I have no idea regarding the health attributes of the ingredients compared to more expensive brands or how this food affects longevity of the cats. I used to use this flavor and brand on our indoor cats, but two of the indoor cats started having a skin condition that caused some fur to fall out and scabs to occur. Our vet suggested we go to a more expensive cat food (we're now buying Orijen Kat and Kitten for the indoor cats). Within two months, the indoor cats fur was thick again and the scabs were gone. Yes, the Orijen is four or five times the cost, but I am keeping the indoor cats on the expensive food. I can't afford to do the same for the ferals, but to be fair, they seem to be doing fine in the wild and other people feed them too.
Customer says:
My cat loves this flavor and since there is nothing on the store shelves I was thrilled you had it. I ordered 4 bags.
Customer says:
I realize that this isn't a high-end cat food, but it's the only one that my cat will eat. He was feral for several years before adopting us, and still is an indoor/outdoor cat, so we feed him what he likes.
