Questions
Is it OK to give cats wet food everyday?

WET FOOD IS FULL OF FLUIDS Feeding your cat wet food every day in addition to dry food ensures that your cat receives plenty of fluids. This is because fresh animal-based food naturally contains lots of water, which is also a key part of the jelly that binds the pieces together.

Is pate or gravy better for cats?

WET FOOD. Some veterinarians recommend feeding only wet, or canned, food. For most purposes, we recommend the paté food rather than the flaked food in gravy. Many cats will lick off the gravy and not eat the meat, which leaves them with incomplete nutrition full of thickeners and glutens.

Is it OK to add water to wet cat food?

– Adding extra water to wet food can also help increase water intake. Some cats will happily eat a food that resembles soup! – Start by adding a small quantity of water (e.g. 1 dessert spoonful) and gradually increase this over a period of several days if your cat is happy to eat their watered down food.

When should you stop feeding your cat wet food?

By three to four weeks, kittens can begin eating moistened dry kibble or wet food. Between six and eight weeks, kittens are fully weaned from their mother's milk and can eat dry or wet kitten food.

Can I add water to wet food cat?

Cats are accustomed to getting most of their water from their food, so switching to, or adding wet food will help with water consumption. You can even add a bit more water to the canned food, to make it more of a gruel consistency (but don't make it too soupy).Nov 3, 2020

Can I give my cat a variety of food?

Although many cats are content to eat a single food, some cats may develop finicky eating habits and become very selective about what foods they'll accept. Feeding your cat two or three different cat foods provides flavor variety, and may prevent your cat from developing an exclusive preference for a single food.

What kind of food is best for cats?

Cats are meat eaters, plain and simple. They have to have protein from meat for a strong heart, good vision, and a healthy reproductive system. Cooked beef, chicken, turkey, and small amounts of lean deli meats are a great way to give them that. Raw or spoiled meat could make your cat sick.Jan 16, 2022

Should you always feed your cat the same food?

Some cats definitely do better when they eat the same thing every day. Reasons can vary from diet-responsive health problems like inflammatory bowel disease or food allergies, to a more generic “sensitive stomach” that rebels to change, to extreme finickiness.May 17, 2013

What should cats eat daily?

Most cats need 4-5 ounces of canned food per day, total. Pate-style varieties tend to be higher in calories per can than the varieties that more resemble people food with chunks and gravies- this can be useful when trying to fine-tune the number of calories per day being consumed.

Is dry or wet food better for cats?

Wet food is more expensive and less easy to use but can be beneficial in cats prone to lower urinary tract disease, constipation and that are overweight. Dry food can be a very efficient way to provide calories in thin cats with food volume limitations and allows for the use of food puzzles and food toy dispensers.Sep 9, 2019

Review edited 05/19/2020 One star removed after discovering a badly dented can and an additional can so crushed from the bottom that we deemed it unsafe to use and discarded it. Twenty- Four (24) 5.5 Ounce cans of Purina Friskies Extra Gravy Chunky Adult Wet Cat Food Variety Pack were ordered from Amazon April 5th 2020, and received in an undamaged box April 9th. The Use Before Date is Feb. 2022. The cans are in good condition. Contents of Friskies box include 6 cans each of foods with: chicken in gravy, turkey in gravy, salmon in gravy, and beef in gravy. Sadly, during April 2019 we lost (due to kidney failure) our originally almost 20 lb. (but less than 13 bs. when near death) rescue cat named Chloe. She had never been overweight ---just a beautiful, BIG and loving white cat with grey markings; a cat that someone had been cruel and foolish enough to leave behind after re-locating. Putting her to sleep was painful, but out of love for her, we had to do it when the time came. You'll know when it's time to say goodbye to your cat and will find the strength to do what is best for your pet. We no longer have to puree specialty food for a sick cat daily and now can choose cat food for our recently acquired Snowshoe Siamese cat. As it appears, Mallory, our two-year-old rescue cat, is actually a little piglet in disguise. We are currently keeping her on the quality dry food that she had been accustomed to, but have added the Friskies canned food (one can per week so far) to her diet. After learning much about a cat with renal failure, we realize the importance of adding wet food to a cat's diet, as they take in much moisture from wet food that they are unable to get just from drinking water. We give Mallery one can, and then repeat one week later. We want to increase to a can twice weekly, but are waiting to see how much of a monster we create first. She likes the Friskies so much that she started to watch us eat, whimper and then bring us to her cat bowl (already full with dry food), linger by the pantry door where her cat food is stored, etc.; begging for some more of the Friskies. Obviously, texture does not bother her as she gobbled up the chunky Friskies; the gravy disappearing equally fast. She also likes bits of ham and turkey from our refrigerator. The truth of it is that she really likes to eat, although she doesn't eat her dry food with quite the same enthusiasm that she does with the Friskies. Because she likes all of these Friskies flavors so much, I have ordered a case of 24 cans of Friskies shredded salmon flavor. We have already given her one can of the salmon food, and of course, she loved that also. What else could be expected of a little piglet of a Snowshoe? If you are not familiar with a Snowshoe, it is a cat resulting from a Siamese breeder, Dorothy Hinds-Daugherty having bred several white pawed Siamese in the 1960's with an intelligent, domestic American shorthair tuxedo cat. The Snowshoe has subsequently been recognized as a distinct breed by the Cat Fanciers Federation, the American Cat Fanciers Federation, and the International Cat Association. These cats are somewhat rare. It is difficult to obtain the desired markings. Some Snowshoes have been bred back to Siamese and to Oriental shorthairs in attempts to maintain the breed and to obtain the desired markings. Our cat is clearly intelligent. She will make weird noises as she carries toys to us to communicate that she wants us to play with her. She also tags us (jumps and pats our thighs with her paws--no extending of claws) and then runs to the family room (where her toys are), when she wants to play. She also tags us in the kitchen---trying to communicate that she wants more Friskies canned food I am quite sure!!! The unfortunate thing is that she can be quite vocal (growly and very, very loud) while carrying her toys at night when wanting to play---sometimes at 2am or 3 am in the morning! Just keep this in mind if you need to rise early and are considering a Snowshoe!!!

I like that the abandoned boys I feed like it and are waiting every morning for breakfast(Colby Jack finished his in the picture, and is waiting for Tigger the Tiger to finish so he can clean any up the old man leaves) With it being so hot and dry I added extra water to the gravy so they'd get the extra water.
Customer says:
other than the couple of cans that came dented it was what was expected
Customer says:
I can’t rate the flavor because I haven’t tried it, but my persnickety cats love this gravy packed cat food. I have had a hard time finding it since the pandemic and am happy to find a source.
Customer says:
A few of the cans were broken and dried up. The cats wouldn’t eat those ones.
Customer says:
My cats like this food over all others. Mixes well with dry food and makes a good gravy mix.
