Cats that eat only dry food need to be provided with lots of fresh water, especially if they are prone to developing urinary tract blockages.

My cat didn't like this brand
Customer says:
I began using Rachel Ray over one year ago. I have one indoor cat and she has both wet and dry food. She needs indoor adult cat food. The first bag of it, she ate very enthusiastically, the whole bag. The next it was the same. She honestly loved it. Ate the entire bowel before the day was done. I know how pets can seem to like a new food just because its new. By the end of the second bag; and second month, I knew that was not the case. After another month, she wouldn't eat the whole bowel, and less enthusiastically for another month. So I bought a small bag from a Pet store, and it was like the first month. She was enthusiastic again. So I took some of the Amazon ordered food and smelled it and compared to the new bag from the store. The Amazon food had no ready smell and was very dry and hard. I am disabled and unable to go out to shop. My caregiver bought the bag from Petco , I think it was. So I ordered from Amazon after the Pet-co bag was gone, Every other two bags was stale and very hard. Theirs no apparent reason for this to happen, as I only buy the smallest bag just a few days before its due to be eaten up. Also, after opening a fresh bag, I transfer it to a airtight plastic Rubbermaid. I believe either the formula isn't being consistently mixed, as I have noticed some months the kibble is all one color without any of the dark pieces its supposed to have; or, It is sitting around in warehouse for too long before being shipped. But I have now been forced to throw away more than shes eaten. And as its this hard, I don't blame her for passing it up. Fix it! Its what she needs to have and she loves it when it FRESH and or Consistently produced. But until then. I'm not wasting any more money on Rachael Ray cat kibble.

So I use this as kitty treats for my two cats (a small handful divided between the two of them). I love that it has wholesome ingredients and my cats go wild for it. In short, I graze feed my cats (i.e. I leave a full bowl for them to "graze" throughout the day) so I probably wouldn't recommend it on this feeding system because by my cats reaction, this stuff is delicious and would make them fat. I've also volunteered at a veterinary clinic where I've had a few people come in because their cats got urinary tract problems that was related to this food. Keep in mind the veterinarian calmly explained that it can be like McDonald's sweet tea for humans, some people can drink it their whole life and be fine, while for other people the tea may not agree with them. I would recommend if you are not sure about this brand, get a small bag (or see if you can get a sample bag) and let your cats try it out. If it works...yay! If it doesn't work then at least you didn't spend a whole lot of money on the food, and you could probably donate to a local shelter. Hope this helps.
Customer says:
I changed from a another well-known brand that was a high-end priced brand. I was not expecting to see a difference in my cats. Within a month of starting to use this cat food my male cat had lost the large belly that he was carrying around. He also seemed much more alert and playful. The boldness and of the color of his coat became much more intense and had a higher Sheen to it also. The large white area on his chest is softer and wider than it has ever been. The female cat that I have is a little older. She is much more energetic than she has been many years since I have changed to this new dry cat food. I was not expecting any of these results and that these all occurred with in about a month's time took me completely by surprise. I cannot emphasize enough the difference that this cat food has made my two cats. After just one month all of these changes were very noticeable, the longer that my cats this dry cat food more results I see.
