Feeding Guidelines Recommendations vary greatly, based on your cat's age, activity level and life stage. For adult cats, feed approximately 2-3 cans/pouches per day per 7 lbs. of body weight. For kittens, offer food several times a day, feed up to twice this amount. Pregnant or nursing cats may require two to four times their normal feeding. The amount to feed will vary based upon age, activity level, breed, size, and environment. Please use the feeding guidelines as an initial recommendation and adjust food amount as needed to maintain proper weight. Always provide access to clean, fresh water. Canned food should be changed at least twice daily in order to prevent spoilage. Serve at room temperature, and refrigerate any unused portion. Most canned foods will have some ingredients that count as carbohydrates. Look for ones that have as little as possible. Some products will list ingredients on the label that look bad, such as cranberries or seeds, but the amounts may be tiny and may not contribute much in the way of carbohydrates.Mar 15, 2011

Dry cat foods typically contain more carbohydrates than wet food because many dry foods use grains, such as cornmeal and rice, to process the kibble. Some cat foods even contain proteins from vegetables rather than meat, which is also not ideal for your carnivorous cat.
Kittens are born carnivores and need a high-protein, high-fat, meat-based diet for healthy growth. Tiki Cat® Born Carnivore™ for Kittens is specially designed for kittens to nourish their growing bodies.
Vitamins and Minerals: Cats need adequate daily intake of vitamins and minerals, but kittens need more magnesium, copper, iodine and vitamin A than adult cats.

Can Kittens Eat Adult Cat Food? Kittens have different nutritional needs than adult cats, so they need a kitten food to support those needs. If the food label says it's formulated “for all life stages,” however, that means it's safe for both kittens and adult cats to eat.
Tuna Is High in Mercury Symptoms of mercury poisoning include dizziness and loss of coordination and balance.
