I have a 17 year old cat who is beginning to have kidney failure. She will not eat the K/D diet. Also Prescription K/D is expensive. With her condition she needs to drink large amounts of water and fluid along with her food. This helps her kidney flush out impurities. This particular one is chicken gravy and has broth and fat. I give her half in am and 1/2 in the pm. She does eat Science Diet food for 7 and up with chicken and rice. Since I’ve been doing this she seems to be feeling better.

I do trust Wereva more than most other companies. The 'Cloud 9' Chicken flavor is bits in a lot of gravy, and she slurps it right up. I add 2 tablespoons of water to it for added hydration because she won't drink water from a bowl. I have had two die of ckd, so while it is a bit higher in protein for ckd, the phosphorus level is not too bad, the ingredients are good, always has a good fresh smell to it. So while she doesn't have ckd, I now always consider that when I buy. it is a bit spendy but I want to keep her healthy. Sure hope the price doesn't rise anymore tho.

It's been so hard to find yummy food for my older cat with CKD - she won't touch any of the prescription foods and almost everything else on the market is far too high in phosphorus for her. However, when I read that BFF OMG had some of the lowest levels of phosphorus for a non-prescription food I decided to give it a try. She loves it! Wolfed it down almost immediately. I wish my kitty would eat her prescription food but this is the next best thing.

Mr. Rocky is a senior and of late he hasn't seemed to care much for his tried and true food that he's eaten for years. He began leaving much of each serving in the bowl and lost some weight. I tried a couple of the BFF OMG cans, and he was wild for all of them. In fact, he's becoming a little too demanding. He goes for it in a really big way.
